The ISAAC system collected driving behavior metrics without the drivers’ knowledge.
The objective was to observe the drivers’ natural, uncoached driving behavior.

Trimac’s implementation of ISAAC’s fleet management solution is the story of a company that turned a regulatory requirement into an opportunity for optimizing fleet management across a North American operation.
With the changing FMCSA regulations for ELDs (electronic logging devices) in the U.S. in 2019, Trimac had to upgrade its trucks with compliant systems.
EXISTING SYSTEM
SOUGHT-AFTER SYSTEM
Trimac’s search began with a thorough examination of seven different commercial offerings. ISAAC’s solution rose to the top of the requirements checklist with benefits that could simplify operations on different fronts.
Trimac was equally selective about the solution provider, who, as an organization, had to be able to handle the implementation of a fleet of Trimac’s size. 1,650 trucks over 45 locations had to be installed within an 8-month time frame, and drivers had to be trained fast.
As collaboration developed in the months that followed, Trimac saw in ISAAC a dependable team of experts, committed to client success!
ISAAC was present and committed every step of the way. They teamed up with us in managing a successful system implementation and rallied to meet challenges encountered along the way. They proved to be a strong vendor and excellent partner. ISAAC has got good people through and through, that are smart and willing to get the work done properly, working with you long after the pre-sales and sales phases.

Safety is a core value for Trimac. It is in that spirit that they began with a pilot project to test the potential of ISAAC’s solution for enhancing driving behavior, and thus improving safety. This three-phase project would also reveal how drivers liked using the new system.
PILOT PROJECT
The ISAAC system collected driving behavior metrics without the drivers’ knowledge.
The objective was to observe the drivers’ natural, uncoached driving behavior.
(Duration: 1 month)
Drivers were trained on the ISAAC tablet which they used for daily operations and adjusting their driving with the ISAAC Coach.
Indicators appeared on the tablet as they drove, providing real-time feedback on acceleration, coasting, and harsh maneuvers.
Trimac offered drivers an incentive program based on the ISAAC Coach scores achieved.
(Duration: 2 months)
Trimac and ISAAC analyzed the metrics collected during phases 1 & 2 of the pilot project.
Results spoke volumes!
3X THE NUMBER OF HIGH-SAFETY DRIVERS
Percentage of drivers with ISAAC Coach score of 80% or more
METRICS DRIVE BEHAVIOR CHANGE
Metrics are what drive behavior change. They tell you what’s really happening, and you can’t refute it.
Combined with an incentive program for drivers and sustained feedback about driving behavior, Trimac is doing it’s due diligence to keep both the roads and its drivers safe.

POSITIVE DRIVER EXPERIENCE
The drivers love the ISAAC tablet and the way it interacts with them.
They have embraced the tool and are using it for DVIRs as well. It’s intuitive. They learned it with light training and much quicker than we expected. They seemed to just take it and run. ’

Trimac’s objective to go beyond new ELD regulations compliance and globally optimize fleet management was well served with ISAAC’s solution.
With the wide scope of features available, Trimac’s project team worked hand in hand with ISAAC’s to harness the solution’s full potential and reap maximum benefits and ROI.
On the whole, our chosen fleet management solution has provided the capacity for automating processes more than ever before and lead to a holistic workflow our drivers respond to.
We have less people doing paperwork and have removed latency in the time to billing.

Some benefits were ready for picking out of the box, while others required adapting existing company processes at Trimac, and even developing software at ISAAC.
The adjustments made to maximize benefits are just more examples of Trimac’s and ISAAC’s sound collaboration.
